Product

The Product configuration page allows you to manage product data in your hotel, such as food, beverages, or retail items. Properly managing products ensures accurate sales, inventory, and reporting in the Point of Sales (POS) system.

What is a Product?

A Product is an item or service sold in your hotel, such as a menu item, drink, or merchandise. Each product can be linked to categories, groups, outlets, tenants, and tax/service settings.

How to Add a Product

  1. In the Tools submenu, select Configurations, then choose the Point Of Sales option and click Product to open the window.
  2. Click the Insert button at the top right to add a new product. The Product Editor window will appear.
  3. Enter the following data:
    • Code: Product code.
    • Active: Check if the product is active for transactions.
    • Name: Name of the product.
    • Category: Select the product category.
    • Group: Select the product group.
    • Outlet: Select and check the outlets where this product will be available.
    • Tenant: Select the tenant if the product belongs to a tenant.
    • Tax & Service: Select the tax and service configuration.
    • Kitchen: Select the printer type for Captain Order printing.
    • Price: Enter the product price.
    • Discount: Enter the discount amount.
  4. Click Save to store the new product, or Close to cancel.

How to Update a Product

  1. Select the product you want to update, right-click and click Update, or double-click the data to open the editor.
  2. Enter the desired changes.
  3. Click Save to apply the changes, or Close to cancel.

How to Duplicate a Product

  1. Right-click the product you want to duplicate and click Duplicate.
  2. Enter a new code and make any necessary changes to the fields.
  3. Click Save to store the duplicate, or Close to cancel.

How to Search for a Product

Use the Search By feature at the top to find products using available keywords.

How to Delete a Product

  1. Select the product you want to delete, right-click, and click Delete.
  2. A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to confirm deletion, or No to cancel.
  3. If the product has been used in transactions, it cannot be deleted and an attention window will appear.
