Market Category

The Market Category configuration page allows you to input, update, and delete market categories. Managing market categories helps you organize your business segments and analyze market performance.

What is a Market Category?

A Market Category is a classification used to group guests or reservations based on their source or segment, such as "Corporate," "Leisure," "Group," or "Online Travel Agent (OTA)." Defining market categories helps with reporting and targeted marketing.

How to Add a Market Category

  1. In the Tools menu, click the Configuration submenu, select the Front Desk tab, then click the Market Category button to open the window.
  2. Click the Insert button to add a new market category. A new entry window will appear.
  3. Enter the following data:
    • Code: Unique code for the market category.
    • Name: Name of the market category.
    • Sort: Enter the sort order number.
  4. Click Save to store the new market category, or Close to cancel.

How to Update a Market Category

  1. In the Tools menu, click the Configuration submenu, select the Front Desk tab, then click the Market Category button.
  2. Select the market category you want to update, right-click, and choose the Update button.
  3. Enter the new data as needed.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes, or Close to cancel.

How to Delete a Market Category

  1. In the Tools menu, click the Configuration submenu, select the Front Desk tab, then click the Market Category button.
  2. Select the market category you want to delete, right-click, and choose the Delete button.
  3. A confirmation dialog will appear.
  4. Click Yes to confirm deletion, or No to cancel.
